I use about 1 Tablespoon of Pearls for 16oz of water. I have a 16 oz mug with a ceramic steeping insert that works perfectly with the pearls.
After I put the pearls in the insert and place over the mug, I put the timer on for 4 minutes and begin pouring the hot (not boiling) water over the pearls. I find that 4 minutes is perfect. If I leave it much longer, it becomes bitter. That's my secret for the perfect cup of Jasmine Tea.
- Pack of 2 (total 6 oz)
- Most sought-after grade of jasmine green tea; gentle body and distinctly sweet jasmine aroma
- Leaves/buds hand rolled into small pearls and scented with jasmine using 900-year-old technique
- Harvested in China's Fujian province in early spring; USDA-certified organic; kosher-certified
- Selected by Rishi buyers (no middlemen); packaged in Milwaukee, WI
I mix it up sometimes with Rishi Wuyi Oolong or black tea, but Jasmine Pearl is a very clean and smooth tea that is a classic for me. Multiple infusions increase the value. Just be sure to use the right temperature water and steeping time to get the best value.
I've tried a lot of combinations, but the best I've found is this with a nice, hearty black tea. Since it's organic I try to stick with other natural blends and I found this to be the best choice: All Natural Organic Instant Black Tea Powder 8 oz. - Buy One Get One Free!.
Most people wouldn't think to mix the two, but they compliment each other so well and help stretch your tea and your dollars. You can still taste the jasmine when you add the black tea mix. None of the flavor it lost, it simply blends which is great for the adventurous tasters! I hope you try this Rishi Tea Organic Jasmine Pearl Loose Leaf Tea, as I know you will not be disappointed.
